Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
The facilities technician is responsible to assist the maintenance/changeover teams with materials and welding projects to support all preventative and reactive maintenance for all facility and operational assets.
What You Will Be Doing- Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include night shift, overtime, and weekends to support a plant that manufactures 24/7
- Must maintain a personal inventory of tools necessary to perform the requirements of the position
- Must have exceptional diagnosis and troubleshooting skills as required in a manufacturing plant
- Must have a high sense of drive, initiative, sense of urgency, and pride to support a high-volume, high-speed manufacturing plant
- Must be able to weld and fabricate materials, machines, parts, and other equipment
- Must be able to operate manual machining equipment
- Must be able to work well with others in a team-based environment
- Must be computer literate (email, data logging)
- Must understand machinery maintenance and basic machine standards
- Must be able to comply with food GMP standards
- Must be able to read, understand, and follow machine manuals, mechanical drawings, SOP’s, PID’s
- Must be detail oriented and able to comply with necessary documentation (work orders, parts inventory removal, etc.)
- Other duties may be assigned

Education/ExperienceOne year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is regularly exposed to work in wet or humid conditions with a risk of electrical shock. This employee is occasionally exposed to work on elevated platforms; with fumes or airborne particles; near toxic or caustic chemicals; in outdoor weather conditions; with risk of vibration and radiation.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
