CVICU Registered Nurse in Mooresville, NC

Work as an experienced Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Nurse in a leading healthcare setting dedicated to delivering high-acuity, specialized care to pediatric cardiac patients. Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients (ages 0-18) with congenital heart conditions, post-operative open heart surgery, transplant management, VAD support, ECMO, and renal replacement therapy.
• Utilize advanced technology including EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensers, and Phillips monitoring systems.
• Maintain patient safety and care standards through vigilant monitoring and intervention, with nurse-to-patient ratios ranging from 1:1 to 2:1 based on acuity.
• Float between PICU, NICU, and General Pediatrics units as patient care needs dictate.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including cardiologists, intensivists, respiratory therapists, and support staff.
• Participate in a comprehensive orientation program and ongoing departmental training.

Qualifications/

Experience:

• Registered Nurse licensure with at least 2 years of experience in Pediatric Cardiac ICU or similar high-acuity pediatric critical care.
• Current BLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Experience caring for complex post-op cardiac patients and familiarity with devices such as Aquadex, Impella, and ECMO.
• Proficient with EPIC electronic medical records.
• Ability to adapt to floating assignments across related pediatric units.
• Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and communication skills.

Schedule:

• 12-hour night shifts ), 36 hours per week.
• Weekend rotation:
  Approximately 3-4 weekends within 6 weeks.
• Holiday work every other major holiday.
• Free parking provided.
