We are seeking an experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to join our growing Level II Special Care Nursery at Duke Health Lake Norman-an expanding community-based hospital backed by the strength, reputation, and resources of Duke University Health System.

Position Overview
The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner provides advanced clinical care to newborns in a Level II Special Care Nursery, focusing on stabilization, treatment, and care coordination for infants requiring a higher level of monitoring and support.
You will:
* Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of newborns with intermediate acuity needs
* Stabilize infants requiring escalation and coordinate transfers to higher-level NICU care as needed
* Perform procedures within scope (e.g., airway management, IV access, resuscitation support)
* Collaborate closely with neonatologists, pediatricians, nursing teams, and subspecialists
* Deliver family-centered care, education, and communication throughout the patient journey
* Participate in quality improvement, program development, and clinical best practices
Key Responsibilities
* Round daily on patients; assess, diagnose, and manage care plans
* Monitor clinical status and initiate appropriate interventions
* Order and interpret diagnostic and laboratory studies
* Assist with and perform neonatal procedures within scope
* Provide stabilization and coordinate transfer for higher-acuity infants
* Document care in compliance with clinical standards and protocols
* Contribute to team-based care and program growth initiatives
Qualifications
* Master's or Doctorate in Nursing (NNP track required)
* Board Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP-BC)
* Active or eligible RN/APRN licensure
* 2+ years NICU or neonatal APP experience strongly preferred
* Experience with stabilization and transitional neonatal care preferred
* Strong communication, clinical judgment, and team collaboration skills
