American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 3+ years of hospital experience and NIHSS or Stroke Certification.

• Work in the Med/Surg Tele (MS/Tele) unit of a hospital environment
• Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Required to work every other weekend (EOW)
• No on-call responsibilities
• Any charting/EMR system experience accepted

• Active RN license, NC or Compact, required in hand
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS or Stroke Certification required
• Minimum 3 years of hospital nursing experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and LTAC experience preferred
• Experience with telemetry monitoring (on-unit and remote) preferred
• Proficiency in IV therapy, central/PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube management, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response protocols
• One supervisory reference from within the last year required for consideration
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Flu vaccine required (10/31-3/31) with no exemptions

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for med/surg and telemetry patients, including those with orthopedic, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and neurological conditions
• Perform wound care and manage isolation precautions/PPE as needed
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Biweekly orientation schedule
• Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius, at a reduced rate
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• RTO must be limited to 5-7 days maximum
• Candidates with prior permanent employment at this health system must disclose this history and must not have been a permanent employee within the past 6 months
