American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring NC or compact license and prior Level I/II Trauma Center experience preferred.
Details- Emergency Department setting, general adult/pediatric combined
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Every other weekend and every other holiday required
- Floating required within scope of training
- No on-call requirements
- Will need to pass an EKG/Telemetry exam onsite
- Active NC or Compact RN license required in hand
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI (in hand or willing to obtain before start), NIHSS, PALS
- TNCC certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
- Level I and Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
- Stroke Certified and STEMI Certified facility experience preferred
- Proficiency with charting systems required
- Skills needed include triage, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, 12-lead EKG interpretation, and splinting/orthopedic trauma care
- Experience managing pediatric and psychiatric emergency cases preferred
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and emergency medications required
- Provide emergency care across a wide range of adult and pediatric cases including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric conditions
- Responsible for triage, emergency medication administration, and cardiac monitoring
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Orientation occurs on a biweekly basis
- Flu vaccination required with no exemptions or declinations accepted
- First-time travelers considered if they have at least 2 years of ED experience
- Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at a reduced rate
- Previous permanent employment with the health system must be disclosed, and candidates must not have been permanent employees within the past 6 months
- RTO must be limited to 5-7 days
