Orbital Welding Technician

We are seeking an experienced Orbital Welding Technician tosupport our weld laboratory and field operations. This position will be responsible for weld procedure development, equipment testing, weldingdemonstrations, on-site welding services, customer training, and technical support.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in welding,excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work with advanced automatedwelding equipment. This role provides an opportunity to work directly with customers and cutting-edge welding technologies in both laboratory and fieldenvironments.

• Developwelding procedures for customers, including feasibility studies,proof-of-principal testing, Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS), and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR).
• Performfunctionality testing on new and rental welding equipment.
• Calibratewelding machines to ensure accurate voltage, amperage, and wire-feedsettings in accordance with applicable WPS requirements.
• Perform manual and automatic welding operations on a variety of metal components.
• Inspect completed welds for defects, including cracks, porosity, undercuts, andother discontinuities.
• Measure dimensions and tolerances using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
• Weld avariety of materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
• Develop and refine welding techniques and procedures using high-quality automatedwelding power supplies and processes, including:
• PAW(Plasma Arc Welding)
• GMAW(Gas Metal Arc Welding)
• Variable Polarity welding processes
• Developa strong working knowledge of company welding products, including weldheads, power supplies, and related equipment.
• Leadand support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests(SAT), validating system performance, compliance with specifications, and customer requirements prior to project handover.
• Maintaina clean, organized, safe, and ergonomically efficient weld laboratory.
• Conductlive welding demonstrations for current and prospective customers, bothin-house and at customer sites.
• Provideon-site welding services in accordance with the company's quality programor the customer's quality program, as required.
• Provide product and welding training to new and existing customers.
• Provide technical support to customers by phone and email.
• Collaborate with internal teams and customers to troubleshoot welding and equipment-related issues.
• Perform other welding laboratory and field-service duties as assigned.

• Associate degree in Welding Technology or a related field preferred.
• 2+years of professional welding experience preferred.
• Orbital welding experience is a plus.
• Experience with automated welding equipment and welding power supplies is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with GTAW, PAW, GMAW, and/or variable polarity processes is preferred.
• Abilityto read and follow welding procedures, specifications, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Abilityto troubleshoot equipment and welding-process issues.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Abilityto work independently as well as collaboratively with customers and internal teams.
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout North America.
• Mustbe available for travel with as little as 48 hours' notice when required.
• Mustbe able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

This position involves a combination of weld laboratory,manufacturing, customer-site, and field-service work. Regular travel throughout

North

America is required, including occasional short-notice travel.

Candidates should be comfortable working hands-on with welding equipment and metal components while maintaining a strong focus onsafety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
