Position: Accountant (Payroll Focus)

Eventide is hiring an Accountant with a payroll focus. This position will also provide accounting support to major financial accounting areas, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliation.

  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to payroll and benefits.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn our HRIS system that manages the payroll and benefit functions.

Job Duties:
  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
  • Process payroll bi-weekly for hourly and salaried employees.
  • Reconcile payroll prior to payment and confirm reports.
  • Understand proper taxation of employer-paid benefits.
  • Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance.
  • Execute time and attendance processing and interface with payroll.
  • Process accurate and timely quarterly and year-end reporting.
  • Ensure that all tax deposits are made timely.
  • Process manual checks as defined in Eventide’s policy.
  • Compile and submit payroll deductions related check requests and payments.
  • Maintain current knowledge of IRS regulations.
  • Provide support, assistance and information to employees and departments in all aspects that relate to payroll.
  • Apply applicable payroll regulations and ensure compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures.
  • Prepare, generate, and maintain accurate payroll records and reports.
  • Work closely with other finance staff to ensure that payroll data is correctly coded.
