Position Purpose
This position exists to provide administrative support to the Dean of Science, Health, and the Environment. This position has the responsibility of serving as an administrative assistant to the Dean in directing and supervising the operation of all office functions pertinent to the confidentiality, coordination and administration of the College of Science, Health, and the Environment. Coordinate the Fall Research and Strong Summer Research grants, Goldwater Scholarship Program, CSHE and Nakken Scholarship Awards, IACUC, Preprofessional and 19A Faculty Grants.
To assist the Dean in monitoring, managing and facilitating all the internal and external daily and ongoing processes necessary to carry out the responsibility for the administration of the College of Science, Health, and the Environment. This position also supports the Student Relations Coordinator.
Rates for Fiscal Year 2027:
$22.62-$30.62 hourly.
$47,231-$63,935 annually.
Minimum Qualifications- Customer service skills sufficient to provide prompt, courteous, and accurate information to a variety of stakeholders in person, on the phone, via video conferencing, and through email and written correspondence
- Communication skills sufficient to create, edit, and respond to written communications using proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, and professional tone.
- Database, documents, and records management sufficient to maintain accurate and organized records and files, ensure data integrity, and retrieve information efficiently
- Word processing skills sufficient to develop, format, and edit correspondence, reports, and other administrative documents.
- Communication skills sufficient to interpret, summarize, and convey information clearly to diverse audiences, including faculty, staff, students, and external partners.
- Customer service and communication skills sufficient to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse populations using tact and diplomacy.
- Associate degree in administrative support, business, or related field
- Experience working in a higher education or public sector environment
- Experience interpreting and applying organizational policies and procedures
- Experience performing accounting, budgeting, or expense tracking functions
- Experience coordinating schedules, projects, or events involving multiple stakeholders
- Experience hiring, training, or providing lead work to student employees
- Experience working within a shared governance or collaborative decision-making environment
- Experience using enterprise systems and business software applications (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, financial or student information systems)
