Process Technician

The Process Technician extracts and crystallizes sugar from sugar beets. Individuals in this position operate factory processing equipment and mobile equipment, perform pilot lab sampling and analysis, and perform manual labor. Individuals in this position coordinate with supervisors to ensure that production equipment is configured correctly and set up to achieve the desired processing rates and production quality standards. They also perform mechanical inspections and adjustments, including troubleshooting, to maintain optimum operating conditions.

• High School diploma or a GED certificate is required.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English to comprehend & interpret technical literature.
• Must be able to use common tools.
• Must have demonstrated ability in basic computer skills.
• Must be able to work BOTH day and night shifts

• Daily activities include standing, bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, squatting/crouching/kneeling, climbing (stairs and ladders), and balancing. Individuals are required to lift assorted items up to 50 pounds individually and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment, beard and hairnets, and appropriate clothing.

The candidate will be required to submit to and successfully pass a Safety Screen that evaluates their ability to execute the duties and tasks defined for this position safely.

8:00 AM to 8:00 PM:
Day shifts. 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM:
Night shifts.

Rotation: 7 day shifts, 7 days off, 7 night shifts, 7 days off. Successful candidates will work BOTH day and night shift schedules.
