The
** Beet Seed Processing Tech
** position provides quality control by checking samples.
** Entry Level $22.73
**** Day shift schedule.

**** Principle accountabilities include but are not limited to:
*** Takes beet seed samples and conducts on-line processing quality control checks.
* Packages seed in 25 to 40 pound packages and applies proper labels.
* Maintains various beet seed varieties and beet seed sizes separately and processes them properly. Requires attention to detail and high degree of care to ensure accuracy.
* Properly and accurately prepares seed on pallets as instructed for shipment.
* Operates a shrink wrap machine to secure seed container on shipping pallet.
* May operate an electric forklift and hand pallet jack, as needed.
* Performs other duties as assigned and works overtime as required.

* Job Requirements:

*** High School diploma or a GED certificate is required.
* Individuals are required to take a Basic Skills Test to verify basic skills and knowledge, including a Mechanical Aptitude Test
* Able to read, write and communicate effectively.
* Basic math skills and an attitude of care with an attention to detail to ensure accuracy of work.
* Mechanical aptitude with an ability to understand and use beet seed processing principles and procedures.
* Able to be certified to safely operate and maintain an electric forklift and electric hand pallet jack. CDL license preferred and may be awarded contingent on obtaining a CDL permit and the CDL within 6 months of the contingent job award.
* Current and satisfactory DOT physical examination certification (DOT health card) is required within 10 days of the contingent job award.
