Description
Churches United for the Homeless (CUFH) provides shelter, support, and case management services for men, women, and families. Embracing “Housing First” principles, we strive to move residents from the shelter to stable housing as quickly as possible. CUFH works to address the root cause of homelessness by increasing incomes and connecting residents to community services with a goal of increasing housing stability and preventing a return to shelter.
EssentialFunctions

- Manages programs related to the front desk/Advocate position
- Assigns duties
- Confers with staff to assist them with analyzing case problems
- Address grievances
- Analyzes needs to develop innovative programs and enhance current programs
- Assists staff through individual and group meetings to analyze specific programs, understand program development, and increase use of individual skills
- Works closely with the Support Services Director and case managers
- Collate HMIS, Apricot, CARES, West Central Continuum of Care, and Office of Economic Opportunity
- Scheduling and maintaining up-to-date trainings
- Create advocate schedule, approving time off, and overseeing timesheets
- Creating and maintaining relationships with security company
- Point of contact for security company
- Excellent interpersonal and team skills; outstanding communications skills, written and oral
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Demonstrated resourcefulness and good judgement
- Leads by example
- Values diversity of thought, background, and perspective
- Sensitivity to individual/family struggles with homelessness, poverty, substance abuse, mental illness, and criminal records

This position supervises advocates, Case Managers and Contracted Shelter Nurses.
Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical DemandsThis is largely a sedentary role and may require the ability to lift 20 pounds, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.
Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Required/RecommendedEducation and Experience
Bachelor's degree in business, social services public administration or related field. At least three (3) years of strong operational experience.
