Job Description

The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supports plasma center operations under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician. Responsibilities include determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, verifying donor suitability, managing medical emergencies, supporting vaccination programs, addressing employee incidents, and serving as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized.

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
• Manage donor adverse events and notify donors of unsuitable test results.
• Follow SOPs for donor reactions and medical emergencies.
• Collaborate with Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical findings and guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate further evaluation with occupational health.
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats.

• High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate equivalent of recognized nursing program with state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state of assignment: LPN or LVN.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Hourly wage range: $25.60 – $35.20

Salary reflects qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location. The wage offered will comply with state/local minimum wage requirements.
