Job Description
The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) will support plasma center operations. Duties include determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable results. The specialist works under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician, follows industry regulations, and assists with environmental, health and safety (EHS) support.
How You Will Contribute- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, and physical examination.
- Manage donor reactions and emergencies according to SOPs, coordinating with the Center Physician as needed.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical findings and donor safety concerns.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine additional evaluation requirements with occupational health.
- Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS.
- High school diploma or equivalent, including a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
- Current license or certification in the state of assignment:
Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA). - Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfillment of state IV therapy requirements.
- Completion of FDA‑approved Bio Life Medical Support Specialist training.
- Two years of clinical or hospital experience.
Hourly wage: $35.20 – $48.40 (U.S. – MN – Moorhead). Actual pay depends on qualifications, experience, and location.
