Per Diem Mobile Health Dental Assistant
Here at Community Health Service, Inc (CHSI), our mission is to provide high quality health care to the overlooked and underserved. CHSI is a private, non-profit organization established in 1973 to serve the health needs of migrant & seasonal farm workers and their family members. Today, CHSI has expanded its services and provides mental & physical healthcare to all individuals in our communities.
We operate four nurse-managed clinics, and two victim advocacy program centers.
We are searching for a Per diem Mobile Health Dental Assistant to join our Moorhead, MN team. This is a per diem position with a flexible schedule based on mobile health operations and community need. Work is performed exclusively in mobile unit and community-based settings. Hours may include daytime mobile clinic coverage, outreach activities, and occasional evening, after-hours, and weekend events as needed.
Responsibilities- Participates in mobile health missions and community-based outreach activities on an as-needed basis to support the communities served by CHSI.
- Sterilize instruments according to regulations.
- Provides patients with oral hygiene education and post-procedure care instructions in mobile and community-based settings.
- Undertake lab tasks as instructed.
- Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
- Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked.
- Manage inventory and ordering of supplies.
- Supports patient flow, registration, and care coordination during mobile dental clinic operations and outreach events.
- Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures.
- Proven experience as dental assistant.
- Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods.
- Experience using Eagle Soft is preferred but not required.
- Good computer skills.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Well-organized and reliable.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES
- In an eight hour workday, the employee must be able to: bend and crouch occasionally, sit continuously and stand or walk frequently.
- Employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Employee must be able to use hands/arms, feet/legs for repetitive fine to large motor skill movements.
- Certifications:
Certified in MN or graduating from dental assistant school is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Certification for other duties as required by the state practice act.
- Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, and Infection Control training as required by law.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Versed in Eagle Soft is highly preferred.
- Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of all company policies and rules.
