Social Services is now accepting applications to be considered for a Full-Time Social Worker in the Child Protection Unit. This position is open to current Clay County Social Worker’s only.

Salary Range: $33.36-$47.06 per hour
This position will be eligible for Clay County’s benefit package.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology or closely related field.
- 1-3 years prior work-related experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Must be a current Clay County Social Worker
- LSW Preferred
- Successfully complete a background investigation
- Clay County Application must be submitted for all County

- To provide child welfare and protective services to children and their families at risk of abuse and neglect, reduce the likelihood of abuse and neglect, prevent out of home placement when possible, and improve the family functioning. Services are to be comprehensive, coordinated and reflect the individual and unique needs of the child and the family. Whenever possible, services should be delivered in the least restrictive, most community-based setting to facilitate in and maintain the family system.
When family preservation is not possible and efforts have been exhausted, permanency planning and development will be provided to include transferring custody and/or adoption activities. This will be done all within the mandates of federal and/or state - The ability to be on call after hours 1-3 times per year
