Job Description
The Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
Engineer will perform thermal, dynamic, structural, and functional modeling of energetic components and systems in support of design and development of aerospace and defense programs.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop analytical models to assess the ability of EBAD products to meet functional requirements.
- Envision and assess alternate concepts to meet functional requirements
- Supporting project and operations teams by providing expert level assistance
- Support existing products and product upgrades
- Participate in root cause and failure analysis of challenging problems
Requirements:
- The successful candidate must have a BS/MS in an engineering discipline and a minimum of 8 years design and/or analysis of aerospace and defense products.
- Strong background in Finite Element Analysis
- Demonstrated experience performing analytical modeling and evaluation of component leveldesigns
- Perform detailed design analyses and present results to customers in support of design reviews
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills for interaction with various levels of management
- Strong follow through and ability to work with Engineers to develop analytical models in support of product development, testing, and failure investigations.
- Proficient with Microsoft office suite software
- Must be able to read and interpret technical product drawings
Desired
Skills:
- Extensive experience in ANSYS Workbench environment, particularly with structural, vibration, and dynamics modules
- Experience with Solid Works preferred
- Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
- Experience with energetic materials preferred
- Ability to perform explicit dynamic analyses preferred
- Knowledge of space vehicle mechanisms and designs is preferred.
Compensation:
Salary Range: $130,000 - $180,000 per year. Salary is determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
