Quality Lab Technician
The Quality Lab Technician supports laboratory operations by processing samples, maintaining equipment, and ensuring accurate documentation in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, current Good Manufacturing Practices, and Good Laboratory Practices. This role contributes directly to quality control activities within a modern cosmetic manufacturing environment that uses state-of-the-art equipment and processes.
Responsibilities- Assist in sample processing in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Issue and apply release stickers on approved raw materials and bulk products to indicate quality status.
- Calibrate laboratory equipment and maintain test instruments to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance to keep laboratory instruments in optimal working condition.
- Maintain inventory and ensure proper levels of department supplies to support continuous laboratory operations.
- Order, unpack, log, and store laboratory supplies in an organized and traceable manner.
- Assist with laboratory paperwork by documenting information accurately, completely, and in a timely manner.
- Log, label, and process specimens and associated paperwork for testing in accordance with established procedures.
- Perform housekeeping and preventative maintenance of laboratory instruments to support consistent performance.
- Ensure the laboratory area remains neat, clean, and organized at all times.
- Maintain an ongoing awareness of cGMP, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), good housekeeping, and safety requirements in the laboratory.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support laboratory and quality control objectives.
- Experience with sample processing in a laboratory environment.
- Ability to work in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Working knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
- Understanding and application of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Hands-on experience using a pH meter.
- Hands-on experience using a viscometer for viscosity measurements.
- Practical knowledge of quality control processes in a lab or production setting.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and manage time effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and sample handling.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions.
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to work cooperatively with team members and supervisors.
Skills & Qualifications
- BA or BS degree in Biological Science, Chemistry, or a combination of education and related experience.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience in a laboratory setting or work in the cosmetology industry is preferred.
- Background in Chemistry or Biology is beneficial.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and other relevant tools.
- Comfort working with state-of-the-art laboratory and manufacturing equipment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and housekeeping.
This role operates within both laboratory and production environments in a state-of-the-art cosmetic manufacturing facility. The position involves regular use of laboratory instruments such as pH meters and viscometers, as well as computer-based tools including Microsoft Office. The environment emphasizes cGMP compliance, Good Laboratory Practices, and strict adherence to safety and housekeeping standards. Flexibility to work on first and second shifts, as well as on Saturdays, is desired to support production and testing schedules.
The facility offers the opportunity to work with modern equipment and to grow within multiple departments as the organization continues to expand.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Moorpark, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
