Saint Mary’s College invites applications for a full‑time salaried adjunct position (non‑tenure track) in Anatomy & Physiology to start in July 2026. The initial appointment is a one‑year position, which may be renewed depending on the department’s needs. The candidate will be responsible for teaching 18‑25 units during the academic year, typically consisting of 3‑4 lecture classes and 4‑6 lab sections annually.
PrimaryTeaching Duties
Anatomy and Physiology I and II lecture and laboratory courses (BIOL 250, 250L, 251, 251L).
Secondary Teaching DutiesOther biology courses based on the candidate’s expertise and departmental needs. The candidate will eventually coordinate and oversee multiple sections of BIOL 250L and/or 251L lab.
Additional ResponsibilitiesParticipate in academic advising, student and community outreach, curricular development and assessment, and departmental committees. Serve the College and community by contributing to the mission and upholding diversity, equity, inclusion and justice principles.
Qualifications- Doctoral degree in a relevant area of biological sciences.
- Demonstrated experience teaching both Anatomy and Physiology lecture and laboratory courses at the collegiate level.
- Commitment to excellence in teaching and passion for educating undergraduate students, especially first‑generation, students of color, women, and other underrepresented groups.
- Experience with inclusive teaching practices.
- Interest in participating in initiatives that increase inclusivity.
