Saint Mary's College of California invites applications for Adjunct Faculty (per-course) to be assigned instructional work in the Nursing program. The candidate must be approved by the Board of Registered Nursing to teach one of the five content areas.
ResponsibilitiesThe Faculty member is accountable for the leadership and management of the instructional work and courses assigned. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with program policies, accreditation standards, and the California Nurse Practice Act; providing leadership and coordination to foster student success with supportive teaching methods; incorporating evidence-based practice and professional roles into student learning outcomes; collaborating with leaders and other faculty to develop and maintain course quality and student competency evaluation.
Qualifications- Master's degree in Nursing or BSN with a minimum of three (3) years of experience.
- Approved by the Board of Registered Nursing to teach one of the five content areas.
- Current and unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
- Three years of continuous experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care within the last five years.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with a diverse student body, staff, faculty, and administrators.
- Experience using computers and other technologies for teaching and learning.
- Doctoral degree.
- Demonstrated record of teaching successfully at the undergraduate level with specific experience in an area of specialty.
- Demonstrated experience developing, managing, and evaluating curriculum or programs.
The salary range for this position is $46.55 - $64.43 per hour and is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021.
