DescriptionSaint Mary’s College invites applications for Adjunct Faculty (per-course) in the Nursing program. The candidate must be approved by the Board of Registered Nursing to teach one of the five content areas.
ResponsibilitiesThe faculty member is accountable for lead and manage instructional work and content assigned. The individual must ensure all related program policies, accreditation standards, state nurse practice act standards, curricular and program requirements are maintained. The faculty member reports to the assigned academic director.
The faculty member will provide leadership and coordination to design activities that foster student success with supportive teaching methods. Evidence‑based practice and professional roles are to be incorporated. In collaboration with leaders and other faculty, the faculty member will develop and ensure the quality of the course that supports the evaluation of student competencies.
Teaching across two clinical sections.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Nursing or BSN with a minimum of three (3) years of experience.
- Approved by the Board of Registered Nursing to teach one of the five content areas.
- Current and unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
- Three years of continuous experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care within the last five years.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with a diverse student body, staff, faculty, and administrators.
- Experience using computers and other technologies for teaching and learning.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree.
- Demonstrated record of teaching successfully at the undergraduate level with specific experience in a specialty area.
- Demonstrated experience developing, managing, and evaluating curriculum, or programs.
The salary range for this position is $46.55 – $64.43 per hour and is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021.
