Position Overview

Assistant/Associate Adjunct Faculty in the Nursing Program at Saint Mary’s College of California. Teach NURS 311L Psych Clinical (3 units, multiple sections). Position is per‑course adjunct, requires on‑campus availability, and will share clinical rotations with a second faculty member.

• Lead and manage instructional work for the assigned course.
• Ensure all related program policies and accreditation standards are followed, including the California Nurse Practice Act.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate curriculum, ensuring it meets national accreditation standards and institutional policies.
• Integrate role‑clarity and professional role obligations into teaching, mentoring, and policy development.
• Use evidence‑based teaching methods to foster student success and professional role development.
• Collaborate with faculty, leaders, and students to maintain course quality and evaluate student competencies.
• Provide leadership and coordination of activities to support student learning outcomes.

• Master’s degree in Nursing or BSN with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience.
• Approved by the Board of Registered Nursing to teach one of the five content areas.
• Current, unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse in California.
• Three years of continuous direct patient‑care experience within the last five years.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with a diverse student body, staff, faculty, and administrators.
• Experience using computers and other technologies for teaching and learning.

• Doctoral degree.
• Record of successful undergraduate teaching in a specialized area.
• Experience developing, managing, and evaluating curriculum or programs.

Term dates, days, and times of instructional work assignments are TBD. The role requires on‑campus availability and adherence to California state regulations. Salary is $46.55–$64.43 per hour, covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
