Nurse Educator
Responsibilities
The Faculty member is responsible for leading and managing instructional work and content in the Nursing program, ensuring that all program policies, accreditation standards, and the California Nurse Practice Act Standards are followed. Duties include coordinating teaching across two clinical sections, designing and implementing evidence‑based practice and professional role concepts, collaborating with academic leadership and peer faculty to develop course quality and assess student competencies, and fostering student success through supportive teaching methods.
Minimum Qualifications- Master’s degree in Nursing or BSN with a minimum of three (3) years of experience.
- Approved by the Board of Registered Nursing to teach one of the five content areas.
- Current, unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
- At least three years of continuous experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care within the last five years.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with a diverse student body, staff, faculty, and administrators.
- Proficient use of computers and educational technologies for teaching and learning.
- Demonstrated record of teaching successfully at the undergraduate level, with specific experience in an area of specialty.
- Experience developing, managing, and evaluating curriculum or programs.
- Commitment to engaging and supporting students of color, women, and underrepresented groups and to initiatives that increase inclusivity.
Hourly rate of $46.55 to $64.43, covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021.
