Music Teacher, Music & Audio Production, Performing Arts Roles/ Dance Instructor
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Friday (Mass) – 12 hours per week
St. Egbert Catholic School, a faith-filled PreK–5 Catholic elementary school, is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Part‑Time Music Teacher to join our faculty. This role is a wonderful opportunity to share the beauty and joy of music with children while supporting their faith formation and overall growth.
Position SummaryThe Music Teacher will design and deliver engaging music instruction for students in grades PreK–5, help lead and support school liturgies, and coordinate key musical events throughout the year. The ideal candidate is passionate about music, loves working with young children, and is committed to the mission of Catholic education.
Key responsibilities- Accept and actively support the mission of Saint Egbert Catholic School as articulated at the diocesan and school level
- Model and integrate virtues and values that support school wide core values of reverence, service, and leadership
- Serve as a witness to the Catholic faith and contribute to the spiritual formation of students through music and the arts
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging music instruction that fosters an appreciation for music, beauty, creativity, and artistic expression
- Cultivate a classroom environment that promotes joy, discipline, participation, and confidence in student performance and creativity
- Collaborate with school administration and faculty in the planning and preparation of weekly school liturgies and other prayer experiences throughout the year
- Help students understand the role of sacred music in the life of the Church and encourage active participation in liturgical music
- Coordinate and support school performances and fine arts experiences, including Christmas and spring productions, concerts, recitals, or other school wide events
- Utilize developmentally appropriate and research‑informed instructional practices that support student growth and engagement
- Integrate technology intentionally and appropriately to enhance music instruction and student learning
- Maintain positive, professional, and collaborative relationships with students, families, faculty, and administration
- Serve as a positive and flexible member of the faculty, contributing to a healthy and mission‑driven team culture
- Engage in ongoing professional growth and remain current with best practices in music education and instructional methodology
- Practicing Catholics who have prior teaching experience preferred.
- College Degree in Education, ideally with a specialization in Music Instruction.
- Employment is contingent upon passing a criminal background and reference check; must complete Diocese‑sponsored Safe Environment Training upon hire.
- NC teaching licensure or be able to obtain NC teaching licensure
- Three or more years of related teaching experience in Education/Teaching, particularly in music or elementary education.
