The department of Agricultural Sciences at Morehead State University is accepting applications for a full-time position as an Assistant Professor, Animal Science. The anticipated start date is August 10, 2026.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaches an assortment of courses in Animal Science, in collaboration with other instructors in areas based upon need and qualifications. Act as faculty advisor to students and meets the duties required of all faculty. Activities, including recruitment, and serving the program, department, college, university and region are expected.

REQUIREMENTS: A doctorate degree in Animal Science, Dairy Science, or a closely related field from an accredited institution. ABD accepted with a documented plan from the dissertation advisor for completion by the end of the first academic semester in which the faculty member is employed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Teaching experience in a higher education environment.

Experience with livestock production, especially ruminant livestock and/or swine is desired.

Physical Requirements Working Conditions

Assistant Professor will teach in a typical classroom environment or an internet based environment. Teaching in hands on labs involving animals is also expected. Travel to a Regional Campus or off-site location may be required.
