The department of Foundational & Graduate Studies in Education at Morehead State University is accepting applications for a full-time tenure track position as an Assistant Professor, Education to teach online and in-person courses across our Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT), B.A. Elementary P-5, and Ed.D programs. The anticipated start date is August 10, 2026.

Morehead State University is located in Morehead, KY, a designated Kentucky Trail Town, nestled in the Daniel Boone National Forest, in close proximity to Cave Run Lake. This location provides opportunities for a wide range of outdoor recreation activities. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Candidates will be expected to teach a variety of education courses related to classroom management, assessment, differentiation, literacy. Candidates must be willing to oversee course embedded field experiences and university supervision of student teachers. They will also be expected to provide service to the department, college, and university, including serving and/or chairing Ed.D. dissertation committees. Candidates must collaborate with schools and communities within MSU's service region.

REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates must hold a PhD or EdD in Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership, or related general education field to be considered eligible for the position. ABD candidates may be considered with degree in hand prior to employment. Candidates must have a minimum of three years teaching experience in an elementary, middle, or secondary public-school classroom.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Higher education teaching experience is preferred. Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate experience utilizing innovative online instructional platforms. Priority consideration will be given to applicants with credentials in two or more content areas/fields.
