The Commonwealth Educational Opportunity Center at Morehead State University is accepting applications for a full-time position as a College Access Coordinator (CEOC-Hazard). The anticipated start date is February 2, 2026.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The College Access Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the direction and operation of the TRIO programs. The College Access Coordinator will implement policies and procedures related to the program objectives and curriculum. The College Access Coordinator will monitor participants' progress throughout the grant year. The incumbent identifies and selects eligible applicants for participation in the TRIO programs. The incumbent develops and maintains an outreach schedule into multiple counties for the purpose of informing community agencies and prospective adult participants about programs of postsecondary education, careers, student financial aid and to provide assistance with completing admission applications, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form and scholarship forms.

The incumbent works closely with university faculty, staff, and administrators, public school personnel, community leaders and professionals, faculty, staff, and administrators of other postsecondary educational

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in human services, counseling, social work, or related area with at least one (1) year experience as a social worker, community outreach worker, employment and training specialist or closely related area is required. Good written and oral communication skills, leadership abilities, and proven interpersonal skills are essential.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous experience in working with economically and educationally disadvantaged participants. Experience in or knowledge of academic requirements. Planning and implementation of grant-funded programs and curriculum development for disadvantaged participants is helpful. Supervisory experience is desired.

Organizational Relationships

The College Access Coordinator reports directly to the TRIO Director with the Director reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Regional Education and Outreach programs. The College Access Coordinator interacts with college and community agency administrators, guidance counselors, faculty, staff, students and parents, as well as other personnel, their co-workers, university faculty and staff in the coordination, planning and implementation of the total program curriculum services.

Physical Requirements Working Conditions

Long hours, numerous interruptions with phone calls and participant drop-ins, and faculty and staff consultations are typical. Pressure from job deadlines, grant proposals, coordination of classes, paperwork can create a great deal of stress. Some travel to assigned work sites/schools is required. Working hours average 40-50 hours per week. The program is located in an office building that houses several other programs so flexibility and cordiality are important traits.
