Financial Aid Counselor

Financial Aid at Morehead State University is accepting applications for a full-time position as a Financial Aid Counselor. The anticipated start date is September 16, 2026. Morehead State University is located in Morehead, KY, a designated Kentucky Trail Town, nestled in the Daniel Boone National Forest, in close proximity to Cave Run Lake. This location provides opportunities for a wide range of outdoor recreation activities.

The Financial Aid Counselor provides the day-to-day counseling and processing functions to ensure the accurate and timely processing of financial aid. The Financial Aid Counselor is responsible for counseling students and families, awarding, reporting, and reconciliation of various financial aid programs. The Financial Aid Counselor Analyst must be familiar with university, state, and federal financial aid regulations and procedures.

Bachelor's degree and demonstrated experience in customer service and problem solving. Must have ability to counsel with students, parents, and other individuals on matters regarding financial aid programs. Financial Aid experience preferred. Experience and technical expertise with mainframe and micro-computers. Strong analytical and communication skills. Ability to work autonomously.

Master's degree preferred. Financial Aid, Student Services, Student Account or related background preferred.
