Job SummaryResponsible for managing patient workflow operations, including registration, pre-authorization, scheduling, and insurance plan of care. Performs routine and complex clerical and secretarial duties to support clinic functions. Coordinates communication between patients, staff, and providers. Ensures efficient office operations and accurate documentation. Supports overall clinic effectiveness and patient experience.
Essential Functions- Supports daily clinic operations including patient scheduling, pre-registering and registering patients, maintaining medical records, managing orders, conducting follow-up calls, and obtaining pre-authorizations as appropriate.
- Assists in maintaining office supplies and equipment as needed.
- Maintains timely and appropriate communication with patients, families, and other individuals.
- Manages time effectively to serve multiple projects.
- Performs duties with self-motivation, independent judgment, and teamwork.
- Provides oversight, support, and accountability for all front desk functions performed by front office assistants, if applicable.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent experience
Experience Requirement2-3 years of experience in a healthcare, clinical setting, or a relevant area. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. All experience must be paid and in the same related field. Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week. Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.
