Work Model: Fully onsite role, with work performed at your designated Regal Rexnord office
FLSA Status: Hourly – 2nd shift – 3pm–11pm
SummaryPerform a normal range of inspection duties throughout the general plant area on a variety of products including bearing units, bushings and related parts and assemblies. Responsible for maintaining quality through adherence to specified programs, procedures and requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Inspect assemblies and parts for proper operation, clearances, fits, visual defects and conformance to blueprint dimensions, tolerances and specifications. Check for proper operation of rotating, sliding or moving parts and other characteristics.
- Prepare parts as required to ensure proper and accurate checking; clean, remove burrs, straighten or perform work necessary prior to inspection.
- Perform periodic inspection of parts in process at machines or workstations; at bench or surface plate as final or first piece to verify set up. Give particular attention to operations where critical dimensions are produced or where problems exist. Notify appropriate personnel when dimensions or finish requirements are approaching rejection limits. Inform production supervision promptly of unusual variations in quality or of excessive or persistent discrepancies.
- Utilize proper care of equipment, observe good housekeeping practices and prescribed safety precautions.
- Prepare detailed inspection, scrap or other forms and reports. Mark move tags with operations performed, inspection OK and next operations. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
- Program, set up, and use advanced gaging methods such as CMM/Romer/Micro Vu.
- Perform other duties and assist in other areas as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ year(s) CNC machining experience preferred.
- Self‑motivated and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to support cross‑function coverage in the inspection department (receiving inspection, roving inspection, etc.).
- Mechanical aptitude and proven mechanical skills.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment to accomplish daily work goals.
- Ability to set priorities and read and interpret special instructions.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations.
- Language skills – ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, technical and procedure manuals and government regulations, write routine reports, operating instructions, procedure manuals, and business correspondence, and communicate well with other employees.
- Mathematical skills – ability to read blueprints and gauges, apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions, and use basic probability and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Must pass an inspector aptitude test.
- Reasoning ability – ability to carry out functions in written, oral, or diagram form, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Physical demands: regular standing, walking, hand use, reaching, talking or hearing. Must be able to lift and manipulate up to 40 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds. Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- Work environment: occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, explosives and vibration. Noise typically moderate; ear protection may be necessary in some locations.
