The employee must be able to move up to 50 pounds on occasion. The employee must have close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will frequently be required to work at heights up to 20 feet using ladders and lift devices, and to stand, walk, bend, twist, kneel, crawl for extended periods to maintain operational standards.
The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibration. Noise levels are usually moderate, and hearing protection is required.
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving industrial manufacturing equipment and facility systems. This role supports production reliability through mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic maintenance while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards. The Maintenance Technician may also assist with work coordination, training, and leadership activities in the absence of the Maintenance Supervisor.
Responsibilities- Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, modify, and install industrial equipment, including mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Diagnose equipment failures using schematics, drawings, specifications, and test instruments.
- Perform repairs on industrial machinery, including CNC lathes, mills, grinders, and electronically controlled systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems up to and including 480V, PLC-controlled equipment, circuit boards, wiring, and cabling.
- Set up and utilize diagnostic tools such as multimeters, digital clamp meters, phase rotation detectors, and electronic test equipment.
- Install, service, and calibrate electronic and mechanical test equipment as required.
- Perform facility maintenance and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment histories, and technical documentation using CMMS software (Fiix).
- Assign, prioritize, and complete work orders; assist with sourcing parts, inventory control, and vendor coordination.
- Assist in planning and executing maintenance, engineering, and electrical/electronic projects.
- Support and train other maintenance team members by sharing technical knowledge and troubleshooting expertise.
- Perform supervisory or leadership tasks in the absence of the Maintenance Supervisor, as assigned.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company policies and OSHA standards.
- Comply with all safety requirements, including proper use of PPE and safe operation of tools and equipment.
- Be available to work off-shifts, weekends, and respond to emergency maintenance needs as required.
- Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electronics, Electrical Technology, or related field required.
- Experience in manufacturing, production, or operations environment.
- 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience preferred, with electronics in an industrial setting.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software tools.
- Ability to lift, move, and manipulate items weighing 55 lbs or more.
