Procurement Specialist

Solaris Paper is seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to join our team at our Moreno Valley, California manufacturing facility. Reporting to the Director of Procurement, the Procurement Specialist will be responsible for purchasing goods, materials, and services supporting manufacturing operations. This role will work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely procurement, competitive pricing, appropriate inventory levels, and reliable supply.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in direct and indirect procurement
, supplier management, negotiation, RFPs, inventory planning, and purchasing within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

• Review, process, and manage purchase orders and purchase requisitions for goods and services.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, applicable laws, ethical standards, and established purchasing procedures.
• Partner with internal departments—including Operations, Maintenance, Production, Finance, and other stakeholders—to understand requirements and develop effective procurement solutions.
• Source, evaluate, and qualify suppliers based on cost, quality, service, capacity, and delivery performance.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, contracts, and other commercial conditions to achieve optimal value.
• Lead and support RFP/RFQ processes
  , including developing requirements, soliciting bids, analyzing proposals, and supporting supplier selection.
• Manage supplier relationships and monitor performance against cost, quality, delivery, and service expectations.

• Minimum 5 years of progressive procurement or purchasing experience
  , preferably in a manufacturing, industrial, pulp and paper, or related environment.
• Demonstrated experience in supplier negotiations and strategic sourcing
  .
• Proven experience leading or participating in RFP/RFQ processes

• Experience managing both direct and indirect spend

• Strong experience negotiating pricing and commercial terms for large-volume purchases
