General Nature of Position
The main purpose of the Equipment Operator I position is to move pallets of product to and from various departments throughout the Distribution Center. This role requires knowledge of the basic functions and controls of the PIT equipment, the ability to take daily directions from leadership, and an understanding of how your role affects others within the warehouse. The position is essential for learning to transition to an Equipment Operator II and advancing within the company.
This entry‑level role is for those with little to no PIT experience.
- 75% of the time spent doing essential job functions as needed.
- 10% of the time spent off PIT equipment to assist with general warehouse labor functions.
- 5% cross‑training in other functions or departments.
- 5% general housekeeping of the department.
- 5% completing PIT inspection reports.
Education/
Certifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
Work Experience:
None required.
- Ability to write and read simple correspondence.
- Ability to learn to operate PIT equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to apply common sense and carry out instructions.
- Ability to understand all functions through training.
- Ability to follow safety procedures.
- Highly motivated, a team‑player, and self‑starter.
- Must display sense of control and confidence while operating PIT equipment.
- Less than 6 months of PIT experience.
- Must be able to communicate clearly.
- Manual dexterity required.
- Sedentary:
Limited activity, no lifting, limited walking. - Moderate:
Mostly standing, walking, bending, frequent lifting. - Light:
Office work, some lifting, considerable walking. - Arduous:
Heavy lifting, bending, crawling, climbing.
$20.43 - $22.93. The salary range posted reflects the estimated minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this role in Moreno Valley, California. Individual pay will be determined by location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
