The County of Riverside - Riverside University Health System‑Medical Center (RUHS‑MC) is currently recruiting for an experienced Registered Nurse III MC/CHC for the Code Team.
The Rapid Response/Code Blue Registered Nurse plays a vital role in delivering immediate, high‑quality care during medical emergencies. This highly skilled critical care nurse responds swiftly to acute patient deterioration, ensuring timely interventions that stabilize patients and improve clinical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Respond promptly to all Code Blue, Code Stroke, Sepsis, RRT, and other rapid response calls across the organization.
- Perform rapid patient assessments and initiate appropriate, evidence‑based interventions for patients experiencing acute clinical deterioration.
- Coordinate and implement patient care during emergency activations in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
- Communicate patient condition, interventions, and outcomes clearly and effectively to attending providers and primary care teams.
- Provide advanced clinical support during cardiopulmonary arrest and Code Blue events, including airway management, IV access, medication administration, and continuous hemodynamic monitoring.
- Provide real‑time documentation of assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Deliver care with professionalism and compassion while supporting patients and families during high‑stress situations.
The most competitive candidates will have at least three (3) years of experience working as a Registered Nurse in either the Intensive Care Unit or Emergency Department within the last five (5) years and a Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
License and Certifications Required- A valid Registered Nurse License to practice in the State of California
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (can be acquired within 30 days of hire)
- NIH Stroke Scale certification
- Evening Shift – 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm: $2.50 per hour
- Night Shift – 11:00 pm to 7:30 am: $5.00 per hour
- Critical Care: $4.00 per hour
- Specialized Team: $4.00 per hour
* Specialty Care and Critical Care differentials will be applied following completion of required specialty training, attainment of all necessary certifications, and departmental determination that the employee is authorized to work independently. Work Schedule
