Overview
The County of Riverside’s Riverside University Health System’s Float Pool Division is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse III – MC/CHC to work at the RUHS Medical Center in Moreno Valley.
The Registered Nurse III – MC/CHC is the advanced journey level classification in the Registered Nurse – MC/CHC series and reports to an appropriate supervisory or manager level position. Incumbents perform nursing duties while applying advanced knowledge and skills in providing care and service to patients with more complex problems and needs within assigned unit(s). Incumbent responsibilities are expanded to include participation in activities relating to quality assurance, policy and procedure review/revision, in‑service education, staff development and preceptorship.
The incumbent will float between the Medical Surgical floors and the Progressive Care Unit, requiring flexibility and adaptability across different units.
Responsibilities- Provide nursing care to assigned patients in accordance with physician instructions and clinical protocols.
- Participate in quality assurance reviews, policy and procedure revisions, and in‑service education.
- Develop and implement nursing care plans, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Serve as a team leader or relief charge nurse as required.
- Assist in the instruction of entry‑level nurses, residents, medical students, and nursing students.
- Current and valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification issued by the American Heart Association, Blue Cloud‑National Stroke Association, or Apex.
- Cardiac Arrhythmia certification.

3/12, Night Shift, 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. - Bilingual is preferred.
- Registered Nurse III – MC/CHC: $51.13 – $77.15 per hour.
- Evening Shift Differential (6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.): $2.50 per hour.
- Night Shift Differential (11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.): $5.00 per hour.
- Float Pool Differential: $2.50 per hour (additional specialty‑care/critical‑care differentials applied following required training, certifications and departmental determination).
- 4500 Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg) Unit – 34 private rooms; wide range of opportunities including blood product transfusions, chemotherapy, oncologic patient care, wound care, telemetry monitoring and overall adult medical/surgical care.
- General Surgery Unit 3500 – 34 private rooms; responsibilities include pre‑ and post‑op care, chemotherapy, blood product transfusions, oncologic patient care, wound management, telemetry monitoring and overall adult post‑operative care.
- Surgical Specialties Unit 3100 – 34 private rooms; includes care for musculoskeletal & trauma patients, plastic surgery, ENT, neurology, joint replacements, laminectomy, tendon/nerves repairs; pre‑ and post‑op care, wound management, blood transfusions, telemetry monitoring.
- Detention Care Unit 4400 – 22 bed specialty unit; care for county and state detention facility patients, including telemetry monitoring, psychiatric evaluations, chemotherapy, I‑131 treatment and postpartum care.
- 4100 Med/Surg Unit – 34 private rooms; designated Stroke Unit with focus on stroke patients and NIHSS competency.
- 4200 Med/Surg Unit – 34 private rooms; general adult medical/surgical care, telemetry monitoring, overflow for county and state inmates.
