Transporter
Operate company-issued passenger transport vehicles (including vans requiring a California Driver's License with a Passenger Endorsement) to safely transport children to appointments, extracurricular activities, resource homes, schools, and other approved destinations, as directed by the immediate supervisor, in accordance with all applicable safety protocols, licensing requirements, and legal regulations. Ensure a safe, trauma-informed, supportive, and nurturing environment for all clients.

- Safety is of utmost importance. All occupants must always wear seat belts while the vehicle is in operation.
- Use of appropriate car seats for occupants under 8-years of age and/or under 4 feet 9 inches tall.
- Use of alcohol, drugs, or any substance that could impair abilities before or while driving is prohibited.
- Maintain compliance with the State of California Wireless Communications Device Law.
- Adherence to all road safety and traffic signals.
- Use of seat belts within California laws and regulations.
- Biometric and location-related data collected through company-issued devices or systems will be used solely for legitimate business purposes related to safety, security, transportation coordination, and operational needs, and will not be used for identification or any unauthorized purpose outside of these functions.
- Transporters' work cell phones may be turned off after hours to ensure privacy of personal whereabouts when not operating company vehicles.
- Compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Use of company-issued vehicles for personal reasons is prohibited.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) requirements, and all federal, state, and local passenger transportation laws and regulations.
- Conduct and document required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in accordance with Commercial Driver License (CDL) standards, company policy, and applicable transportation safety regulations.
- Immediately report vehicle safety concerns, accidents, mechanical defects, citations, or transportation-related incidents to the appropriate supervisor in accordance with company policy and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure vehicles are maintained in a safe, clean, and inspection-ready condition at all times, including compliance with preventative maintenance schedules and regulatory inspection requirements.
- Coordinate with internal departments and resource parents on scheduling, routes, and communication.
- Ensure documentation is accurately updated and stored, including but not limited to mileage logs, gas receipts, manifests, vehicle service/maintenance logs & invoices, and monthly vehicle inspections.
- Adhere to Child Abuse and incident reporting requirements.
- All CDL drivers are required to maintain insurability and a satisfactory driving record as a condition of employment. Employees determined to be uninsurable, or who fail to maintain an acceptable driving record, may be disqualified from operating company vehicles and may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
