RN​/Surgery - PRN - St. Mary

Overview

This RN position focuses on delivering patient care within the framework of the Nursing Process and the Nurse Practice Act. The RN will delegate, direct, and assist licensed and ancillary team members, ensure quality patient outcomes, and support unit and department strategic goals.

• Required:
  
  Registered Nurse Diploma
• Preferred:
  Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing

• Required:
  
  Experience working with and maintaining confidential information; experience in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Preferred:
  Leadership skills or experience directly supervising or managing others.
• Basic computer skills.

• Required:
  
  Current RN License in the state of practice.
• Required:
  
  Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Preferred:
  Certification in a clinical specialty area.

• Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
• Good time management and self‑directed.
• Good judgement.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Delegation skills.

• Effectively use the Nursing Process in the delivery of patient care.
• Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies appropriate for the diverse needs of patients, families, and other disciplines.
• Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources (human and fiscal) and serve as a leader and partner on the Interdisciplinary Team.
• Use data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change in order to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Embrace concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction, employee morale, and the professional nursing practice.
• Other related duties as required.

The physical essential functions of this job include, but are not limited to, frequently exerting 10 to 20 pounds of force to move objects; occasionally exerting up to 100 pounds of force.
