JOB SUMMARY

As an Engineering Test Technician 2 at Marki Microwave you will be part of a highly skilled team developing the next generation of Marki best-in‑class RF products. You will be responsible for supporting Engineers with testing and characterization of new products using advanced test techniques. The successful candidate will directly interface and coordinate activities with project, engineering and/or manufacturing personnel. This role is ideal for someone looking to further their technical knowledge and expertise in high frequency RF component testing through a hands‑on approach in a fast‑paced, dynamic development environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support RF Validation Engineers with electrical measurements.
  • Accountable for identifying any issues regarding reliability, engineering, and/or design.
  • Accurately characterize new products using multimeters, spectrum analyzers, VNAs, Noise Figure Meters, probe stations, synthesizers, phase noise analyzers, power meters, and oscilloscopes. Report data to engineers with clear and concise communication.
  • Perform Reliability testing including power handling, ESD, thermal imaging, and pre‑post measurements for product qualifications. Document findings.
  • Support roll‑out of test automation and provide feedback to RF Validation Engineers.
  • Own the set up and monitoring of RF power testing and over temperature testing for new products.
  • Setup, calibrate, and conduct wafer probing on manual and automated.
  • Generate test data for all datasheet parameters as well as specific customer requested measurements covering DC to 120 GHz.
  • Maintain R&D test lab to ensure equipment is in calibration and all required equipment is available.
  • High level of data entry accuracy; effective time management.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload; ability to proactively communicate project status, including roadblocks.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with others, including multidisciplinary staff.
  • Consult and collaborate with other departments as needed for clear and detailed understanding of requirements.
  • Support manufacturing with testing and troubleshooting as needed and if time permits.
  • Successfully troubleshoot production and prototype failures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent military training in Electronics with knowledge of RF/Microwave.
  • 5+ years’ experience testing RF/Microwave products.
  • Experience using a microscope and tweezers.
  • Experience trimming PCB with an exacto knife.
  • Experience using and calibrating VNAs.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience with operating and troubleshooting RF/Microwave products.
  • Basic understanding of RF/Microwave concepts such as S‑parameters, Noise Figure/Temperature, Conversion Loss, Power Compression, Harmonic Generation, Intermodulation Distortion, Spur Generation, Phase Noise, and Transient Response Time preferred.
  • Understand the theory behind RF/Microwave testing and know how to run component level tests including but not limited to S‑parameters, Noise Figure/Temperature, Conversion Loss, Power Compression, Harmonic Generation, Intermodulation Distortion, Spur Generation, Phase Noise, and Transient Response Time.
