Kalman works closely with customers from prototype through full production, supporting design, development, and process planning.

With a strong focus on lean manufacturing and quality management, the team handles projects ranging from single parts to complex turnkey assemblies. Every product is manufactured to be cost effective while meeting rigorous quality standards.

Role Description The Weekend Shift Lead is a full‑time, on‑site role located in Morgan Hill, CA. This position is responsible for overseeing weekend production operations, coordinating workflow, and ensuring that quality and safety standards are met throughout the shift. Day‑to‑day tasks include assigning work to team members, monitoring machine and equipment performance, resolving production issues, and ensuring jobs are completed on time and to specification.

The Weekend Shift Lead will maintain clear communication with supervisors and weekday teams, complete shift reports, and support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing practices. This role also involves coaching and supporting team members, promoting a safe work environment, and enforcing company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment, including team coordination and shift supervision.
  • Knowledge of high‑precision machining or manufacturing processes, with the ability to read and interpret production schedules and basic technical documentation.
  • Strong focus on quality, safety, and lean manufacturing principles, with experience following standard operating procedures and continuous improvement practices.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear direction, feedback, and support to team members.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot production issues, prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions under time‑sensitive conditions.
  • Comfort with basic computer usage for documentation, shift reports, and production tracking systems.
  • Availability to work weekend shifts on a full‑time basis at the Morgan Hill, CA facility.
  • Previous experience in precision manufacturing or related industries; supervisory experience and familiarity with ISO or other quality standards are beneficial.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or coursework in manufacturing, machining, or related fields is a plus.
