Job Title: CNC Machinist/ 5 axis CNC machinist

This is a full-time, on-site CNC Machinist (also known as a Machinist or Machine operator
) role based in Morgan Hill, CA. The CNC Machinist will be responsible for setting up and operating 5-axis CNC machines, including loading programs, selecting tooling, and verifying proper work holding. As an experienced CNC programmer , day-to-day tasks include interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints, performing first-article and in-process inspections, and making necessary adjustments to maintain tight tolerances and surface finish requirements.

This hands-on machine operator position involves monitoring machine performance, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with other team members and quality teams to optimize machining processes. The machinist will also maintain a clean and safe work environment, follow all safety protocols, and document production information and quality checks as required.

Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience as a CNC Machinist setting up and operating 5-axis CNC machines, including Matsuura, Haas, YCM, Doosan, tooling selection, work holding, and program loading.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T, backed by expert-level CNC programmer capabilities for optimizing machine paths.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) utilized daily by every skilled Machine operator for first-article and in-process inspections.
  • Demonstrated skill as a professional Machinist in troubleshooting machining issues, adjusting offsets, and optimizing feeds and speeds for efficiency and quality.
  • Commitment to workplace safety, equipment care, and maintaining an organized, clean work area suitable for high-precision manufacturing.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, allowing the CNC Machinist to work collaboratively with engineering, programming, and quality personnel.
  • Prior experience in a precision manufacturing environment; background as a CNC programmer or Machine operator in aerospace, medical, or high-tolerance industries is beneficial.
  • Relevant technical training, apprenticeship, or coursework in machining, manufacturing technology, or a related field for this machinist role is preferred.
