These ministries are aimed at presenting the gospel and biblical truth clearly and consistently, as well as laying a foundation for a lifetime of following Jesus in the context of being a member of a local church.

He will give special attention and direction as the leader of Student Ministry (6th through 12th grades). This role also includes general pastoral responsibilities such as preaching/teaching, shepherding, and visitation.

Responsibilities

The Pastor of Youth and Children will shepherd all aspects of ministry related to families, whose children are in K–12th grades. While there will be more direct hands‑on teaching related to youth ministry (6th‑12th grades), this pastor will oversee, equip, and encourage ministry leaders within the Children’s Ministry (K‑6th). He will implement the discipleship ministry of PRBC in the context of children’s ministry.

While Student and Children ministries will remain two distinct ministries, this Pastor’s ministry will bring cohesion across these ministries.

Oversee and manage Sunday School and midweek programs and activities for children (K–12th grade) ensuring a welcoming, safe, God‑centered, Christ‑exalting ministry for children and parents in a manner consistent with the theology, vision, and philosophy of ministry of PRBC.

Oversee and manage the curriculum and content of the teaching employed in our ministries and programs to ensure that it accords with our Statement of Faith, is age‑appropriate, and rightly exalts Christ.

Supervise and direct all team leaders and other ministry staff and volunteers who work with children to ensure that there is proper vetting, orientation, and training according to our safeguarding policies. Ensure that our policies and procedures are up‑to‑date and develop a culture of careful safeguarding and protection of the children entrusted to our care and oversight.

Plan, manager, and oversee student and children’s ministry events related to fellowship, missions, and discipleship.

Oversee the recruitment, training, and support of all volunteer staff required for children programs K–12th grade.

Oversee the proper management and care of designated child ministry space and equipment.
