Job Purpose

We are seeking a passionate, student‑centered Middle School Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will create an engaging learning environment that supports students' intellectual, social, and emotional development in grades 6–8. This role requires strong classroom management skills, subject matter expertise, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive school culture.

  • Candidates must hold or be eligible for a North Carolina Teaching license.

Job Description and Duties
  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials providing effective teaching strategies.
  • Maintain effective classroom management; recognize and address learning and behavior issues; understand developmental appropriateness of materials and differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Evaluate student accomplishments on a regular basis using multiple assessment methods; provide progress and interim reports for feedback.
  • Communicate with parents in a timely manner; maintain positive and constructive communication with students, staff, parents, and community.
  • Protect students, materials and facilities taking necessary and reasonable precautions.
  • Uphold and enforce board policy, district goals, administrative procedures and school rules and regulations.
  • Adhere to health and safety policies.
  • Maintain appropriate work habits, including regular and punctual attendance and appropriate use of conference and planning time.
  • Keep current in subject matter knowledge and learning theory; attend workshops, and PLCs as well as staff department, curricular development, and staff‑development session as required.
  • Respect the confidentiality of records and information regarding students, parents and teachers in accordance with accepted professional ethics and state and federal laws.
  • Share responsibility during the school day for the supervision of students in areas of the school.
  • Perform non‑instructional duties as assigned.
