Job Overview:
This position develops and oversees the comprehensive work of the High School Curriculum Advancement. The program currently partners with the NC Department of Public Instruction (NC DPI) and serves up to 5,000 students annually, teaching them about Textile Innovation through the Career Technical Education (CTE) class offerings. The program also provides support via platforms for teachers and students. This position will ensure the strategic vision, integration, expansion, and collaboration of this program.

Essential Functions
● Lead the strategic direction, implementation, growth, and evaluation of the High School Curriculum Advancement program, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and workforce development initiatives.
● Oversee the continued development, delivery, and expansion of the Fashion & Textiles I – Fundamentals curriculum and related program offerings.
● Lead the development and implementation of Fashion & Textiles II curriculum, additional DPI offerings, and future educational resources and programming.
● Collaborate with curriculum specialists, educators, and subject matter experts to ensure instructional materials meet Department of Public Instruction (DPI) standards, educator needs, accessibility requirements, and copyright compliance standards.
● Manage and enhance the DISCO platform to support instructor engagement, resource sharing, and professional collaboration.
● Oversee the development, maintenance, and expansion of Strategic Career Maps and related career exploration resources for students and job seekers.
● Partner with DPI and other educational stakeholders to develop and deliver continuing education opportunities for Career and Technical Education (CTE) instructors.
● Build and maintain strong relationships with DPI representatives, educators, curriculum specialists, industry partners, and other key stakeholders.
● Develop and implement strategies to expand curriculum offerings and program impact at the regional and national levels.
● Partner with the Development Team to support funding opportunities, program sustainability, and long-term growth initiatives.
● Collect, analyze, and report program metrics to evaluate outcomes, support continuous improvement, and inform strategic decision-making.
● Ensure programs and initiatives are designed for long-term sustainability, scalability, and replicability.
● Represent The Industrial Commons and the High School Curriculum Advancement program at local, regional, state, and national meetings, conferences, and events.
● Perform other related duties as assigned to support organizational priorities. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
● Degree in Education, Curriculum Design, Instructional Design, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
● Fundamental knowledge of textiles, textile manufacturing, or the textile industry.
● 3+ years of experience in teaching, curriculum development, instructional design, educational programming, or related work at the local, regional, or national level.
● Experience designing and developing educational curriculum, instructional resources, or learning materials.
