Job Purpose

We are seeking a passionate, student-centered School Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will create an engaging learning environment that supports students' intellectual, social, and emotional development in grades 9-12. This role requires strong classroom management skills, subject matter expertise, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive school culture.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Hold or be eligible for a North Carolina Teaching license.
  • Perform each essential function proficiently, with reasonable accommodations available.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred).
  • Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
Job Description and Duties
  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials using effective teaching strategies.
  • Maintain effective classroom management, recognize and address learning and behavior issues, and differentiate instruction to meet all learners' needs.
  • Evaluate student accomplishments regularly using multiple assessment methods; provide progress and interim reports.
  • Communicate with parents promptly and maintain constructive relationships with students, staff, parents, and community.
  • Protect students, materials, and facilities with necessary precautions.
  • Uphold and enforce board policies, district goals, administrative procedures, and school rules and regulations.
  • Adhere to health and safety policies.
  • Maintain appropriate work habits, including punctual attendance and proper use of conference and planning time.
  • Keep current in subject matter knowledge and learning theory; attend workshops, PLCs, staff development sessions, and curricular development activities as required.
  • Respect the confidentiality of records and information regarding students, parents, and teachers in accordance with professional ethics and state and federal laws.
  • Share supervision responsibilities during the school day in various school areas.
  • Perform non-instructional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an approved education program in the subject area.
  • Strong background and understanding of the North Carolina Standard Course of Study and Essential Standards.
Physical Requirements
  • Occasional exertion up to 10 pounds of force.
  • Regular speaking or hearing, repetitive hand movements, sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing or pulling, and lifting.
  • Standard vision requirements.
  • Vocal communication required for expressing ideas.
  • Hearing required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels.
  • Preparation and analysis of written or computer data, operating machines, and vehicles.
  • Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Work usually in a moderately noisy location.
