  • Performing a variety of tasks to facilitate operation of the hatchery including but not limited to: cleaning incubators, counting eggs/chicks, separating/culling chicks, assisting vaccinators, loading/unloading eggs, and keeping work areas clean/organized.
  • Adheres to all safety requirements, including PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, Lockout-Tagout procedures, and Process Safety Management-related matters.
  • Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
  • Participates in Company and department safety programs.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to work with others in a close environment.
  • Demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work quickly and multitask.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions, if applicable.

  • Exposed to temperatures up to 105 degrees Fahrenheit and humidity up to 100%.
  • Exposed to chemicals and vaccines to be covered in MSDS training and hazardous communications.
  • Use of personal protective equipment as required.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs. to a height of 6 feet, to push 75 lbs. a distance of 75 feet and lift 20 - 25 lbs. to a height of 3 feet.
  • Must be able to work in a wet, damp, dusty (chick down) environment.
  • Must be able to use a broom, shovel, mop, and scrub brushes.
  • Work with chemicals to effectively wash and disinfect equipment/work area.
  • Frequent stooping and kneeling.
