Sign‑On Bonus
This position is eligible for a sign on bonus with a 2-year commitment to Mission Health. Current HCA employees and those employed by HCA anytime in the last 6 months are not eligible to receive the sign on bonus.
Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesThe Registered Nurse (RN) coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.
The RN serves as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.
- Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s).
- Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Teaches patients, families, and caregivers about patient medical condition, status, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, translating complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
- Teaches patients, families, and caregivers about non-medicinal follow-up measures such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and other lifestyle changes; prepares them for future self‑management.
- Manages evidence‑based practices and continuous process improvement initiatives to meet and exceed quality measures and enhance the exceptional care provided to patients.
- Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver a holistic patient treatment plan that promotes and supports recovery.

Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enrollment in a BSN or advanced degree program with completion of a BSN within five years of hire date into the RN position. Grandfathering will be accepted between departments and Mission Health entities. RNs with ten years or more of experience are exempt. - Preferred Education: Master’s in Nursing.
- Required License/
Certifications:
Current licensure as a registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. eNLC (Enhanced Nurse License Compact) license may apply; licensee should confirm with NCBON. Certificate: BLS Healthcare Provider. - Preferred License/
Certifications:
National certification in area of specialty. - Required Experience: One‑year hospital nursing experience.
