Assists the nurse in planning and implementing Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and other basic care as delegated. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to residents served according to standards, and departmental policy and procedures. Provides care for extended periods of time in various settings, spanning the health continuum. Performs other related job duties as deemed competent.
QualificationsEducation:
Graduate of an approved CNAI, CNAII, CNAI+4, Med Aide, and or Med Tech training program
Experience:
Preferably Long-Term Care or Med-Surg related
License/Registration:
Current listing on the NC Nurse Aide Registry and/or the NC Board of Nursing dependent on certification level. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Assists the nurse in planning and implementing Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). Demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide basic care to residents served according to standards and departmental policy and procedures. Understands and provides care according to the scope of practice for CNAs (Nurse practice acts, state laws, etc.). Recognizes and report changes in patient/resident’s condition to nurse
Typical Physical Demands:
Requires frequently pushing 40 pounds, pulling 80 pounds, standing/walking. Repetitive trunk rotation standing; manual dexterity. Both handedness, functional vision and hearing. Functional range of motion. Occasionally lifting 35 pounds from floor to waist and waist to eye level; one handed carrying of 15 pounds; work kneeling; work squatting/crouching; visual color discrimination and visual depth perception.
