Social Work Supervisor III - Adult Services

This position provides an array of Adult Social Work Services to older and disabled adults that includes, but are not limited to:
Adult Protective Services, Adult Guardianship, Adult Home Specialist, SA In-Home Services, In-Home Aide Services, CAP/DA Services, and general adult services case management. This unit also includes the local case management activities of the Services for the Blind Social Worker.
To successfully perform this position, an individual must be able to perform the following:
- Supervises a team of advanced social workers providing Adult Services and CAP/DA services to older and disabled adults.
- Ensures all services comply with federal and state laws, regulations, and policies.
- Plans and oversees daily operations, sets priorities, assigns cases, and provides ongoing guidance.
- Coaches staff, evaluates performance, and conducts case reviews to ensure quality service delivery.
- Coordinates staff training and supports development of required practice competencies.
- Addresses personnel issues, including disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Participates in hiring processes, approves leave, and provides on-call supervisory coverage.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned
Master's degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related experience; or a bachelor's degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of directly related experience; or a master's degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of directly related experience; or a bachelor's degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of directly related experience;
or a bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Mostly sedentary work involving computer use, documentation review, and staff communication; occasional standing and routine physical motions required.
- Primarily office-based role with occasional court appearances, joint home visits, and collaboration with clients and community partners.
- Uses standard office technology, communication tools, and a county vehicle as needed.
- Requires strong visual, auditory, and concentration skills to guide staff, review work, and maintain program standards.
- Ensures staff follow safety procedures and directs use of law enforcement support when necessary.
- Adapts to frequent policy and procedural changes and communicates updates clearly to staff.
- Proficient in spoken and written English
- Ability to express and exchange ideas through verbal communication
- Ability to convey detailed instructions loudly, accurately, and/or quickly
- Ability to receive detailed instructions or information through verbal communication
- Ability to prepare and analyze written or computer data
- Ability to operate and use systems, technologies, motor vehicles, and machines required to perform duties of this position
- Ability to observe general surroundings and activities
- Ability to follow detailed guidelines, policies, and procedures
- Strong knowledge of supervision methods and social work administration
- Understanding of social work principles, techniques, and treatment practices
- Knowledge of community resources and how they support client needs
