Location: Morgantown, WV
Pay: Starting at $17.00 per hour, based on experience
Position: Full-Time
Express Employment Professionals is currently hiring an Accounts Receivable Clerk in Morgantown, WV for a local client. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with experience in accounts receivable, B2B collections, billing, payment processing, account reconciliation, or customer account management.
The primary responsibility of the Accounts Receivable Clerk is to help reduce outstanding accounts receivable balances by working directly with customers, branch locations, and national account personnel to collect past-due amounts and resolve billing issues.
Accounts Receivable Clerk Responsibilities- Make daily business-to-business (B2B) collection calls to designated customer accounts.
- Contact customers regarding outstanding and past-due balances.
- Maintain detailed documentation of customer interactions involving payments, disputes, rebills, adjustments, and service-related documents.
- Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure payments are accurately accounted for and properly posted.
- Assist with the daily application and posting of incoming customer payments.
- Help process monthly customer billing and invoicing
. - Assist field teams with invoice submissions and supporting documentation.
- Research and help resolve billing discrepancies and payment disputes
. - Collaborate with internal accounts receivable teams and field staff to provide customer support across multiple regions.
- Build professional relationships with internal and external customers.
- Respond to customer questions and account requests accurately and promptly.
- Communicate professionally with customers by phone, email, and written correspondence.
- Maintain organized and accurate financial and customer account records.
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- Previous experience with accounts receivable, collections, billing, accounting, or customer accounts is preferred.
- Strong accounting and business math skills.
- Ability to understand and accurately review customer accounts and balances.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
