Nature of Work
Under general supervision. The employee will serve as receptionist, telephone operator, and file clerk on a rotating basis.
Responsibilities include:
- Answering telephone calls, screening calls, taking messages and complaints, and providing general information to callers.
- Receiving, sorting, and distributing incoming and outgoing mail.
- Operating office equipment such as adding machine, calculator, postage meter, fax, copier, and mail machine.
- Typing documents from written or voice‑recorded dictation.
- Compiling records and reports.
- Maintaining, processing, sorting, and filing documents alphabetically.
- Assisting all sections of the office with clerical duties, including Income Maintenance and WV Works.
- Processing incoming and outgoing mail on a rotating basis.
Mandatory overtime is an essential function of this position.
Minimum QualificationsTraining: Graduation from a standard high school or the equivalent.
Experience: Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in routine office work.
Substitution: College hours, related business school, or vocational training may be substituted through an established formula for the required experience.
