CHARLESTON, WV – We are seeking a Senior Civil Designer to join our site development team in Charleston. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in land development and site design, with advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and the ability to lead the production of site development projects from concept through construction. This role includes preparing and coordinating site layout, grading, stormwater management, utilities, and erosion and sediment control plans, while working closely with engineers and other disciplines to produce permit‑ready construction documents.

Candidates should have a minimum of five years of relevant experience, along with strong communication skills and the ability to manage production efforts, maintain quality standards, and collaborate across multi‑disciplinary teams.

CHARLESTON, WV / BLACKSBURG, VA – We are seeking a Civil Engineer to join our site development team. The ideal candidate will bring experience in land and site development and will contribute to projects from initial planning through design and construction, including site layout, grading, stormwater management, utilities, and erosion and sediment control. Candidates should have a minimum of five years of experience in land and site development, including experience in a project management role.

Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is preferred;
Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) candidates will be considered if actively progressing toward licensure. Proficiency in Civil 3D and familiarity with stormwater design and permitting are preferred. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a multi‑disciplinary team are essential.

ZMM Architects and Engineers is seeking an experienced Clerk of the Works to serve as the on‑site representative for projects during construction. This role is responsible for observing construction progress, verifying conformance with contract documents, and helping ensure quality, schedule, and budget expectations are met.

The Clerk of the Works will regularly review work in progress, document observations, and communicate with the design team, contractors, and owners to address issues as they arise. Responsibilities include monitoring materials and workmanship, tracking progress against the construction schedule, reviewing submittals and field reports, and assisting with inspections, punch lists, and closeout activities.

The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of construction methods and codes, excellent attention to detail, and clear communication skills. Experience in building construction, inspection, or construction administration is required, with the ability to work collaboratively while maintaining objectivity and professionalism on site.
